Join the Camp Palm Beach team and make this summer unforgettable! As a summer camp counselor, you'll have the opportunity to organize, conduct, and monitor a variety of indoor and outdoor games and activities for children of all ages. In addition to leading exciting activities and field trips, you'll assist with specialized programs, including sports, special events, and ensuring the overall safety and enjoyment of campers. Working under the guidance of the Recreation Specialist and Program Manager, you'll help create a fun, dynamic, and memorable camp experience. The starting pay rate is $17.00 per hour.  
  • Works with children of all ages, exhibiting patience and understanding.
  • Under the direction of the Recreation Specialist/ Program Manager, organizes and executes daily planned activities, and leads and monitors indoor/outdoor games, immersive arts & crafts, STEM experiments, and other special programs within the Camp Palm Beach Program.
  • Assists with set-up, implementing games and activities, and cleanup for special events.
  • Assists with recreation programs and facility supervision to ensure proper coverage of activities and participant safety.
  • Assists with daily maintenance of indoor and outdoor facilities for safety and cleanliness.
  • Sets up tables, chairs, and related equipment for programs and classes.
  • Supervises participants and leads recreational activities in summer camp, holiday camps, and the after school programs.
  • Assists with basic office duties such as answering phones, providing program and activity information, and registering participants for programs and activities.
  • Responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of campers during field trips and off-site activities
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Some experience in working with children in a leadership supervisory capacity preferred.

Training Dates: June 1st to June 6th 
Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Working Dates for Camp Duration: June 8th - July 31st 

Typical Hours:  Monday - Friday 8:45 am to 3:45 pm; however, early and extended camp hours are available to those interested.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, departmental officials, and the general public, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Customer Service experience and the ability to enforce departmental policies and procedures and handle complaints in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to organize, conduct, and supervise a variety of indoor and outdoor games and activities.

Compensation details: 17-17 Hourly Wage
